_New Enhancements for Doyen’s Glove Lines

Doyen's Glove Packaging Line

Doyen Medipharm, the specialist supplier of packaging and converting machinery to the medical industry, has announced significant improvements to their world-leading Glove Packaging Lines. Known as the GPM, Doyen’s glove packaging lines operate by taking a web of material, which will become the sterile field for the gloves, forming the web, having gloves hand placed into the web, and then closing and finally folding the sterile field.

Normally the walleted packs are then fed directly into the packaging machine for sterile pouching operation. The new GPM units will now be supplied with servo drives to the knife and printer units. Hitherto, these units have been synchronously driven from a single drive motor. This upgrade has improved the dimensional accuracy of the sterile field area by as much as 3mm, and reduced the maintenance associated with this area by a factor of more than 50%. The life of the knife blades has also improved as a result of the changes.

The introduction of the servo drive to the printer means that the printer can now be operated independently for set up, and reliability is again improved. Importantly, the print position is now totally electronically adjustable.

Further enhancements have also been made to the glove lines through changes to the drive mechanisms and the addition of an adjustable feature to the forming stations. All these enhancements are available as upgrades for existing machines, and can be introduced by one of Doyen’s skilled engineers at the customer’s site.

The GPM is just one of a range of medical packaging machinery designed and manufactured by Doyen Medipharm.
