The AGPM - Automatic Glove Placing Machine, improves the performance of the Doyen GPM - Glove Packaging Machine by automating the task of loading gloves. Currently production staff pick up the glove, generate the glove cuff and then place it onto the moving inner wallet web. This process means that room for error in placing the gloves is great and currently labour intensive. The AGPM automates this process leaving production staff to concentrate on forming the cuff, which in turn will be improved, along with a reduction in labor required to complete the process. Workers will be adjacent to the conveyor; one each for right and left handed gloves, and will cuff the gloves onto moving cuffing fixtures, commonly termed 'mandrels'. Once the operator has cuffed a glove onto a fixture, the glove is carried along to the transport mechanism. A series of grippers in the transport mechanism grasps an individual glove and lifts it from its mandrel. The glove is then delivered to the GPM shadow box and accurately placed on to the moving web. |
