Fisons Pharmaceuticals of Holmes Chapel, UK, has installed the new Electronic Four Side Seal machine manufactured by Doyen. The machine is being used to pack blow fill and seal eye care products.

The machine has been designed to produce finished packed sachets at a rate of 70 per minute using a flat steel to rubber roller combination. Full electronic control allows all pack parameters to be stored once the machine has been set up and the pack validated, enabling quick, reliable, and repeatable re-setting of the machine.

The introduction of the Doyen machine enabled Fisons to overcome seal integrity problems they had experienced on conventional machines. The fully validated system supplied by Doyen has allowed the full production of the barrier pack to continue with total confidence in pack quality.
