A High Speed Doyen 4SS/DMS Dressing Converting system and packaging line has recently been supplied to a confidential customer who is a major supplier on the wound care market in Europe. The machine supplied produces packed dressings in heat sealed packs at speeds in excess of 300 products per minute-twice as fast as the existing production machinery.

Using very accurate tension controls and differential servos to control tension within the dressing construction area, the machine assembles the dressing components and a range of sizes from 70mm long to 200mm long, and from 50mm to 250mm wide. The dressing, which comprised both film and absorptive pad technology, feeds directly into the high speed Four Side Seal 400 unit that completes the final pack. The 4SS 400 machine permits rotary sealing to be applied with the full flexibility associated with this technology, but with speeds of up to 50 metres per minute.
